Instructions to visit the window showroom. Please read to make sure your trip is worthwhile.
The showroom is run by the window manufacturer
This means there are a few important things to know before you arrive.
First, it’s not as glossy as a retail store.
- It’s a wholesale place so it will not be as glossy as a retail store. It’s typically used by contractors but you can absolutely stop by.
When you arrive let them know you’re working with Window Universe on an order and they’ll let you look around.

- We can explain the differences. Every window is custom made so they won’t have a sample of every possible option but we can let you know what you look at so your trip is useful. If you’re looking to see something specific let us know before you go and we’ll confirm that it is available.
The people working there are not necessarily window experts
- They are typically entering orders, scheduling deliveries, managing inventory, etc. They aren’t salespeople who know the ins and outs of every option. That’s our job so let us know what questions come up and we’ll be happy to help.

Please do not arrive right at 3:30pm. The folks in there are looking to head home on time and we try to be great customers.

Top 4 problems that arise from a showroom visit and how to avoid them
- Customer drives to showroom to find out they’re closed and is annoyed that they wasted a trip.
- Note the hours listed above. Since they’re a wholesale place they are open wholesale type hours.
- Customer thinks the person working at the showroom must be a window expert because they work for the manufacturer. Then gets annoyed when they get bad or conflicting info.
- Remember, the folks working there are great at their jobs, but they are not salespeople and they don’t necessarily know every detail about every option.
- We’re the window product experts so let us know what questions you have and we can help with anything.
- If you get information that seems confusing or incorrect just let us know and we’ll be happy to help get to the bottom of it.
- Customer doesn’t see a sample labeled Gentek Signature Elite and is annoyed that they don’t have “the right” display window.
- Look at the Alside Mezzo display window and we can explain the differences. There are important differences, but both models share the same slim frame design. To look at one is to look at both.
- The upgraded Gentek line is only offered through their larger dealers so the folks going in there every day cannot order the upgraded product line, but we can.
4. Customer was looking for something specific that was not available at the showroom and is annoyed that they wasted a trip.
- Every window and door is custom made so there are millions of possible combinations. It would be impossible to have every possible configuration on display.
- They have examples of the popular window models and styles. If you’re looking to see something very specific like a multi-lite casement window with triple pane glass and black exterior and a light oak interior it probably won’t be there. Let us know what you’re hoping to see and we’ll confirm availability before you make the trip.
